Can We Stop Planning Every Minute Of Our Lives?

Can We Stop Planning Every Minute Of Our Lives?

By: Em Hamilton

It’s too easy to get caught up in the high intensity, ever changing, do better tornado that we call life. As twenty-somethings, we are made to believe that we need to get an education, get a better education, find a career, get married, have children; the list goes on.

The pressure to create a plan to reach every single destination on the roadmap of your life can be overwhelming. We are living in a life where we achieve one goal and then think “what next?”

Can we all just stop planning for a minute? Sit back and lift your face to the sun and stop thinking about what’s next and how to get there?

Even if you don’t know what’s coming next in your life, if you don’t have any idea where you see yourself in 5 years – that is OK.

It’s ok to be unsure about your future. Read that again. Take a deep breath. You don’t have to have every single step of your life planned out to end up on top of the world.

Heartbreak, new love, changing jobs, or moving to different places can be blindsiding. Plan or no plan, you never know when changes like this are coming.

So enjoy your twenties, give yourself a little breathing room, roll with the punches, and stop planning every minute of your life. Because sometimes the unplanned things in your life end up being the best things in your life.
