Pieces of Advice for the Man Lucky Enough to Marry My Sister
By: Emmie pombo
You don’t know how lucky you have it, marrying my sister. She's the most beautiful, amazing, special human you'll ever lay eyes on.
When you marry my sister, you'll be marrying basically our entire family as well. We come as a package deal; you can’t get one without us all. And kudos to you for accepting that.
In addition, you'll gain not only her approval but all of ours. We expect nothing but the best for her and you've passed every test so far – you’re it; you’re the one.
My sister will stick by you through everything; she'll love you unconditionally and wholeheartedly. Like a diamond in the rough, she is one in a million. Don’t let a day go by without reminding her that she’s beautiful and treasured.
She'll be the light of your life, your partner, your best friend, your inspiration, and the reason you get out of bed in the morning, never let her forget that.
She'll help when you feel like you’re failing and cheer for you when you're on top of the world. She'll be the best thing that ever happens to you, make sure you don't take that for granted.
Remember to help her when she needs it – and even when she doesn’t. She is a powerful, determined, and strong woman but that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t need a shoulder to cry on.
She may argue that she can do some things on her own, and that's true, so let her if she insists, but never leave her side.
There will be times when you argue. Remember that she likes to be right. And let’s face it – most times, she will be. But even if she’s not, never go to bed angry, give her space if she needs it, and hug her if she doesn’t.
Listen to her fears and dry her tears, because that's what she needs most.
Based on the way you already treat her, I know that my sister - the person I'm closest to in life - is in the hands that God created for her.
I love you and I’m glad that you're in not only my sister’s life, but mine as well.
